What Do I Want for My 60th Birthday?

Posted on June 21, 2010 at 2:41 PM

60 pebbles from the shores of 60 seas

60 symphonies under the stars

60 colors I've never seen

Or maybe something extravagant

60 flavors of ice cream, all of them chocolate

60 men feeding me 60 peeled grapes,

what happens next are 60 secrets

60 dresses in 60 shades of red

  Carmine

  Scarlet

  Infra-red

  Alizarian Crimson

  Whisper it with me

    Ali-zari-ian Crim-son

Or something sacred

60 golden nights with Osiris in the Temple of Isis

60 hugs from Amma

60 nights in a sweatlodge lined with cedar

Am I enlightened yet?

Or what about

60 poems from 60 dreams

60 songs received from the wind

Or 60 therapy sessions with Carl Jung

He probably doesn't charge that much from the other side

Do I have to choose?

But now that I'm 60 should I ask for something for all of us?

60 animals saved from extinction

60 countries with no starvation

60 rainforests all regenerating

Does a birthday wish have that much power?

Maybe I should focus on what I really need

60 dollars every 60 seconds

60 weeks away from a computer

60 days in a Meditterean health spa

Or just this

My breath

My life

One pure moment

Starting now

My mother language is spanish, so I´ll wish for you all this in my own way of comunication:
Deseo que tus sesenta años hayan tenido:
60 estrellas,
60 cometas,
60 mitos y
60 diosas.
Que recibas 60 bendiciones
60 latidos del corazón
60 abrazos
de 60 amigos
60 cantos de pájaros
60 mantras
60 bailes mágicos
y 400 pedernales
que en el país del cual provengo
es el infinito...
que espero te acompañe
cada noche.
